I completely lost track of time and missed updating for a week. And I was getting better, too! Oh, well – this is just a minor setback. I flew to Indianapolis on Saturday for a conference Sunday through Tuesday. Although I have been pretty much trapped in my hotel or the adjoining mall, I’ve made good use of my knitting time.
But first, before I left, I finished Lisa’s Christmas Moss Grid Hand Towel and Towelette. I still need to block them, but I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out in the Knit Picks Cotlin. I hope Lisa likes them!
I brought my Swallowtail Shawl with me to Indy hoping solitary hotel room time would help me to get back on track with it. But alas, Hey, Teach! has garnered all my attention. I powered through knitting the last piece, the right front, on the plane Saturday and in my room that night. Which meant that yesterday I knit the neckline and the button bands, and all that remains is to set in the sleeves and seam up the sides. I’m not sure if I should, but I’m going to go ahead with that pre-blocking, and block it after seaming. I’m really wanting to have it put together, as I’m a little concerned that there may be too much negative ease to fit the way I’d hoped. (All the more reason to get back on track with my diet.) Either way, this sweater has been a very enjoyable sweater-knitting experience. I didn’t bring my camera on this trip, so I’ll have to post photos in another post.
I’m off to my conference now!
Oops, I Did it Again!
