After taking a much deserved mini break from knitting after the Slouchy Cardigan and getting everything ready for the trip, I picked up the needles again and cast on for a beret that I’ve been wanting to make for a while. I guess I didn’t quite get the slouchy out of my system, because this pattern is the Star-Crossed Slouchy Beret. (But next up are socks, and I certainly hope they won’t be slouchy.)
I used some of the Classic Elite Waterlily that I picked up at the recent “We Hate February” sale at Simply fibers. I bought 5 balls of this, and will definitely have leftovers, so I may have to find a quick scarf pattern to whip up to match my new hat.

And in trip news, we leave at dark-thirty tomorrow morning! Everything is checked of the list, and we’ve even got some money to spend. Euros will definitely take some getting used to, but while most everyone in our group is concerned with learning the Italian phrase to ask where the bathroom is – “Dov’è il bagno” – I’m thinking ahead and my key phrase will be “Quanto costa?” which means, “How much does it cost?”

Yep. I’m ready to go. Ciao!
Let’s Go!

Great hat. Very European. And I love the Euros. Haven’t seen any up close. So how many dollars are there in a Euro or vice versa?
Have a great time. Looking forward to traveling vicariously through you. I will be waving at dark thirty when you pass over on the way to ATL. Yeah right. I will be snoozing soundly but I will be dreaming of waving at you.
