This weekend had been planned for a long time for Robert and Steve to meet their friend Michael in Kansas City for a guys’ weekend, complete with Dave & Buster’s, the Renaissance Faire, and the Chiefs vs. the Cowboys football game, along with some World of Warcraft thrown in for good measure.
I intended to stay home and get stuff done, because I’ll be headed for my girls’ weekend this coming weekend at Rhinebeck, but at the last minute decided to tag along with my sister and brother-in-law to visit my nephew and his family in the Dallas area. Our visit coincided with the Texas State Fair, so we spent Saturday morning hanging out with other fair goers.
The kids rode some rides:

We all ate corn dogs:

I looked for wool but didn’t find it:

Jayme and I shared some deep fried cookie dough, which was actually very good:

I found my favorite animals in the petting zoo area:

And someone got very tired from all the excitement:

(Forgive the fact that she’s clutching a crocheted blanket – I didn’t make it!)
It was a great weekend with family, even though Robert and I were doing different things, and I finished the left front of my Arwen sweater on the drive down. Next up, New York Sheep & Wool Festival!

Safe trip and have fun at Rhinebeck. I’ll be going to SAFF next weekend.
