Celebrate!

Monday marked the official kickoff of the season of celebration for us. First of all, Happy Birthday to my wonderful hubby of almost seven years (our anniversary is next week – also included in the season of celebration).
Second, November 30th was the deadline for the Tempted@3AM “If it covers your chest and has cables” KAL, for which I knit A Cardigan for Arwen. It was touch and go there for a while, but I finished with plenty of time.
Third, November 30th was the deadline for the Numma Numma Lace KAL for which I knit Ishbel. Because of my previous knitting distractions, I had to buckle down this weekend, but I made it. Ishbel is currently blocking, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. And a bonus, I also get to count it for The Loopy Ewe’s 4th Quarter Challenge which was to knit a shawl.

And of course, Christmas is just around the corner. This week Robert and I both will attend two work-related Christmas lunches/dinners (and only one of them together), and we’ll celebrate our anniversary on Friday (more on that in a later post). Next weekend is our church’s Christmas concert, which will be our Celebration Choir and Orchestra with A Festival of Keyboards (if you’re in Springfield, you should come – it’s going to be awesome).
The following week will be the Music Ministry Banquet, an annual formal Christmas dinner with friends, and our work Christmas party – and sometime in there my department will have a luncheon as well. Kathy and I will make Christmas cookies next week, and I think the Saturday before Christmas we’ll make a trip to Silver Dollar City.
And, of course, I’ve got my December knitting goals – here’s hoping that I can squeeze in some knitting amidst all the celebrating!

  1. Loved the Arwen and the Ishbel. I’m trying to stay away from KALs for a few months. In a way I miss the excitement of making deadline but am enjoying some “unrushed” knitting. Question about the Arwen–did you wet or steam block? I’ve made 2 kid’s sweaters using Comfort that are ready to block.
